Variations in Disease Contraction and Preventative Measures

Justin Sullivan, Nicole Hryckiewicz, Caleb Kitchen, & Yinan Zhang

This group project is seeking to understand the anthropological approach to health complications in youth as they differ according to geographical location and culture. We have shown interest in a few fields of research: disease contraction, evolutionary adaptations for disease, and preventative methods such as medicine or foods. Through thorough analysis of existing health research, we will attempt to discover the various impacts of disease on young community members, and the cures or measures of prevention utilized by their cultural group. An understanding of how health problems are addressed by separate groups may contribute to proper advancements in global well-being.
